GIS and Remote Sensing Techniques were implemented for assessing health of plantations in Jalna through vegetation indices. On the basis of varied combinations of the measured reflectance properties at two or more wavelengths, NDVI, SR and MSI were obtained that revealed specific vegetation characteristics. The value of NDVI nearer to 1 signified a healthy vegetation and on the other hand, values between 2 to 8 was a sign of good vegetation health and in case of MSI, the values for green vegetation was 0.4 to 2. This study helped us quantify the temporal changes in plantation sites using various vegetation indices with Sentinel Images. |
